William Hill High 5 & 2 Clear

Introduction

High 5 - William hill offer a 15% boost on top of your winnings if your horse wins by 5 lengths or more selected races only. Max boost is £100. Min 6 horses.
2 Clear- William hill offer a 15% boost on top of your winnings if your horse wins by 2 lengths or more selected races only. Max boost is £100. Min 6 horses.
Both offers have the exact same strategy. High 5 is just for selected jump races (races with hurdles) and 2 Clear is for selected flat races (races without hurdles). The reason one is lengths and the other is 2lengths is because flat races are a lot shorter and so the horses tend to finish closer together.

  • Eligible races can be found on the William Hill homepage, normally underneath the football highlights. If you're having trouble finding what races either offer is on, check out our Facebook group or Oddsmonkey's forum thread.

Key Terms
  • Min odds: No minimum odds

  • Min stake: None (see strategy for stake calculation)

  • Selected races only

  • Minimum of 6 horses. (If you've bet on a race with 6 horses and 1 pulls out before the start, your bet will not qualify)

Promo Terms: High 5 & 2 Clear

The Strategy

To get the full 15% boost, you must "win" £666 (15% of £666 is £100, which is the maximum boost you receive if you win).

Step 1 Find A Horse

Open up William Hill and your exchange and find a close match between the back and lay odds of any horse. Alternatively you can use Oddsmonkey's Oddsmatcher to filter out Horse Racing, or their Racing Matcher to check the odds on every race.

  • It's usually good to go for one of the favourites (the lowest odds) as they have a bigger chance of winning by 2 or 5 lengths.

Step 2 How To Work Out Your Stake

To work out what your stake is, calculate 666 ÷ (back odds -1). For example if your back odds for a horse to win were 3.0, your stake would be 666 ÷ (3 -1) = 666 ÷ 2 = £333.

  • This is the amount you need to bet to "win" £666 therefore giving us the maximum £100 free bet.

Step 3 Place Your Back And Lay Bets

Stake the required amount on the horse.

  • You can use the William Hill daily boost to boost your selection giving you a smaller qualifying loss.

Step 4 The Outcome

If your horse wins by 5 lengths on a selected jump race, or 2 on a selected flat race, you receive a £100 free bet  (or less if you staked less than the calculated amount).

  • If you used the mobile boost you will only get the free bet value as 15% from the original odds (not the boosted odds).

Additional Tip - Don't Forget Matchbook!

You may be familiar with using Betfair and Smarkets as your two exchanges.

Definitely consider using Matchbook too, they have some of the best horse racing lay odds, in particular given their 0% commission on all sports for new Matchbook customers.

If you are an existing customer, you will still only pay 1.5% commission on winning lay bets on horse racing.

For example, below is a screenshot of the OddsMonkey OddsMatcher filtered for horse racing and William Hill. As you can see, 8 of the 10 closest odds are with Matchbook:

Until recently, I didn't use Matchbook given I had always been happy with Betfair and Smarkets but I now regularly use Matchbook too to help make some extra profit!

Additional Tips
  • Free bets expire 4 days after being credited.

  • You get 1 boost per day from William Hill with max stake £200. Try to combine this offer with the boost to reduce qualifying losses.

  • Boost is mobile only but can be accessed on desktop at https://href.li/?http://sports.williamhill.com/betting/en-gb - It's a good idea to save this link. The boost will appear in your betslip when you make a selection.
