b) Choose a popular league or cup on image

To make this even easier and faster, check the Selections blog where every week I select the best teams for your trigger and free bets. Scroll to the bottom of the blog post for my recommended free bets.

If you are following the Starting With £8 guide, then select a team with odds between 1.4 to 1.6, you can find this in the 'top trigger bets' table in Selections blog post.

c) Choose a team with higher odds to make a larger profit:video image
£10 Free Bet
Back Odds
Your Profit
2.0 £6 £4.50
3.0 £15 £6
4.0 £25 £6.50
5.0 £35 £6.75
6.0 £45 £7

As shown in the table above, the odds you choose for your £10 free bet will determine your profit and liability amount. You need to deposit the liability amount into Betfair in case your Betfair bet loses. If it does lose, don't worry, as you will win more in Skybet than you lose in Betfair. For more details, check out the 'What is liability?' video.

If you are looking for a team with odds of 2.0 to 2.5, I recommend using one of the trigger bets rather than free bets as listed in the selections blog post.

d) Check the Betfair Exchange lay odds and choose the team with the closest lay bet odds to the bookmaker image

Ideally the chosen team should have the lay bet odds within 10% of the bookmaker odds. For example, if your bookmaker odds are 2.0, aim for Betfair Exchange lay odds no higher than 2.2.

a) Select 'Free Bet SNR' in the Calculator as 'bet type'video image

b) Enter your stake (10), back odds and lay odds into the Calculator. video image

The profit breakdown at the bottom of the calculator shows exactly how you make your profit.

If your SkyBet £10 free bet loses, then you win £5 to £7 on Betfair (your lay stake).

If your SkyBet £10 free bet wins, then you will win £5 to £7 more on SkyBet than you lose on Betfair (your liability).

a) Place your £10 Skybet free bet. To use your free bet, just click 'Use Free Bet' in the image
b) Place your Betfair Exchange lay bet using the lay amount from Step 2 in Backer's Stakevideo image

Once the free bet has settled....
