Oddsmonkey vs. Profit Accumulator Review

If you've been considering using a paid matched betting service, then chances are you've stumbled upon Oddsmonkey and Profit Accumulator, and you might be wondering which one is better.

The debate between the two is a bit like when you used to spend breaktime at school arguing with your friends that your Xbox was better than their Playstation… No? Just me? Fair enough.

The point is, these two are the best paid matched betting services available. Despite people’s strong alliances on either side, in my opinion they are more similar than they are different, with both products offering an active forum, an offers calendar and oddsmatchers.

For these reasons, people tend to sign up to one and stick with them because that’s just what they’re used to.

Google Trends OM vs. PA

Oddsmonkey vs. Profit Accumulator googles 2017-present.

We at Team Profit have a significant amount of experience using both Profit Accumulator and Oddsmonkey, and believe that both have their advantages, but are ultimately very similar.  Many people prefer one over the other, whether it be because they prefer the layout of PA’s forum, or because they prefer OM’s software, or simply because they’ve always used one and that’s what they’re comfortable with.

Here’s a comparison of the most important features on each site.

Cost

Full membership for either costs £17.99 a month or £150 a year.

*Oddsmatcher
- A really handy tool to find the best odds out there for your bet. This can save lots of time and more importantly money!
*Daily Offer Calendar
- This will list all of the profitable offers possible, each and every day. For those who have more time on their hands, this tool is extremely handy and is the key to sustaining decent monthly profits
*Price Boost Alerts
- This is one of my favourite things. You can make upwards of £500 a month using price boosts alone, and get alerted for each and every one. This is only available if you're an Oddsmonkey member, and it's an absolute gold mine. If you haven't tried out price boosts yet, then make sure you give them a trial and do it! You can find a guide on how to set it all up here
*Advanced Calculators
- A lot of the offers posted have great lock in opportunities, but in order to do them properly you'll need an Oddsmonkey subscription to use one of their calculators. They have lots of different ones that will help you make a decent profit and guarantee profit no matter what
*0% Smarkets Commission
- If you're placing a lot of bets then 0% commission is far better than the standard 2%, or 5% with Betfair. Just 1 month's worth of bets can save you enough in commission to pay for the membership itself, and you will also get the other features effectively for free!
*30 day money back guarantee
- Oddsmonkey offer a 30 day money back guarantee. If you have any issues or don't want to pursue membership then you can simply request a refund, and so it's all risk free!

Verdict: Both Oddsmonkey and Profit Accumulator have the same monthly cost, and offer identical trials.   So they tie on pricing.

OM 1 - 1 PA

Offer Calendars

Oddsmonkey recently updated the format of their daily offer calendar, based in part on suggestions of Team Profit members, so good job guys! They post the newest offers first and display either the guaranteed or expected value of the offer. They have a comprehensive filter, allowing you to choose what offers you see based on

  • Sports, Casino or Bingo offers
  • Easy, Medium or Hard difficulty
  • Guaranteed or Potential profit

You also have the ability to bookmark offers, mark offers complete and filter out offers from bookies that you're gubbed from.

Profit Accumulator on the other hand give a star rating for each offer to help customers prioritise the more valuable and/or faster offers available that day. You can filter depending on star rating and choose between a weekly or a daily view of offers. They also offer a gubbing filter and a mark as complete button but no other filtering options.

Verdict: OM's offer calendar is easier to navigate and has a wider range of filtering options.

OM 2 - 1 PA

Oddsmatchers

Their oddsmatchers are very similar. They both have Betfair and Smarkets integration, meaning that you can place lay bets directly through the oddsmatcher at the click of a button. PA's oddsmatcher auto-refreshes meaning the odds change without having to refresh the page which is very useful.

One drawback is that the odds can take over 5 minutes to refresh at times which can be frustrating if the odds have changed.

OM's oddsmatcher does not have auto-refresh meaning you have to open the calculator to make sure that the lay odds haven't drifted.

However, their odds to tend to update more frequently compared to PA.

As well as the oddsmatchers they both have an array of software designed for more complex offers like each way bets and lay sequential accas. This software includes matchers such as the acca matcher and calculators such as the risk free equal profit calculator.

Verdict: Both have their pros and cons and I would say that it's too tight to call... It's a draw.

OM 3 - 2 PA

Forums

Both forums use the same software and have a large number of active members. They also use the same software but their layout is something that splits opinion as some find PA’s to be easier to navigate.

Again, this is down to personal preference more than anything objective, that said we find PA's layout more user friendly.

PA also have been around for longer so they have a slightly more established threads than OM. Also, they have a Matched Betting Meme thread, so how could they not win this one?

Verdict: Easier layout + bigger base + memes = PA win.

OM 3 - 3 PA

Conclusion

It's a 3 - 3 tie!

Both Oddsmonkey and Profit Accumulator offer a fantastic service that is highly valuable to matched bettors.  Both have very similar features and so there is very little to differentiate the two.  Ultimately, the question of which one is better really comes down to personal preference.

For this reason,  we suggest giving both Oddsmonkey and Profit Accumulator a go using the £1 trials, which offer you a full membership trial, so that you can decide for yourself which one you prefer.  Some people even use both as they find they complement each other, so if you can spare the coin it could be a win win!
