1. How did you find out about matched betting and Team Profit?

I found out about Team Profit from a friend, Stewart, at work.

I’d been persuaded to give it a go by another friend. I opened my first few accounts and Stewart showed me what to bet on and how much, etc.

Then I went into doing it myself when Stewart pointed me in the direction of Team Profit and the rest, as they say, is history!

2. How difficult was it for you to start matched betting?

It was remarkably easy.

The hardest part was convincing my wife (Fiona) that I wasn't risking the little savings we had and that I wasn't going to get addicted to “gambling”.

My friend, Stewart, helped convince my wife and guide me through getting started for a percentage of my profits.

Had somebody pointed me in the direction of Team Profit beforehand, I wouldn't have agreed to it.

The guys at Team Profit, and the fellow matched bettors in the Facebook group, have all been incredible! I'd definitely not be where I am today without them.

3. How does matched betting fit into your weekly routine?

I squeeze time in around my normal daily routine.

Some days I can spare more time than others, making it hard to work out exact times.

I mostly do matched betting during my work breaks and when I get home.

It's a quick look while cooking tea, then a bit more once the kids have been put to bed.

Saturdays are easily my busiest matched betting days, and can be quite heavy going at times.

I don’t know how I cope some weekends. Although lockdown has helped, and the profits definitely make the effort worthwhile on the weekends.

During the week, it can be hard work finding things to make it worthwhile. I follow the boost thread and have recently paid particular attention to the Matchbook Acca thread.

These threads on the Team Profit Facebook group are a godsend, especially when you're busy at work most days.

I set myself a target of averaging £20 per day profit. So far I’ve only missed that target once.

4. What advice would you give to new matched bettors to help them profit?

  • My first piece of advice would be to join Team Profit!
  • After that, watch and read the guides, then rewatch and reread, then do it again. Make sure you know exactly what you're doing and why you're doing it. That way, silly mistakes are kept to a minimum and profits kept to a maximum.
  • My next piece of advice would be to join the Team Profit Facebook group and follow their daily threads. Especially follow the boost and acca threads - they are invaluable for maximising profits on a daily basis.

  • Next, take your time. I've seen posts saying 2ups and EPs can make mega profits, but they’re not really for beginners. You'll get there, just don't rush.
  • Try not to take anything to heart. There’s a good chance mistakes will happen. And you'll often feel really stupid when they do. Gubbings will happen too. The first one will really hurt. The second a little less so. And then they get easier each time.

  • Lastly, and most importantly, ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS. The only silly question is the one you don't ask - and it's usually the one that costs you profit.

5. What have you done with your profits?

My profits so far have mostly gone into building my bank ready for the transition to Team Casino.

I'm planning on a change of career in the next few months which will hopefully give me more time to move into casino offers.

I have taken a fairly substantial chunk out of my profits to pay for some home improvements.

Our little boy’s bedroom was tiny and couldn't even fit a full size single bed. So we've had some walls moved to make his room bigger.

Next step is two new beds for my youngest two children.

Then it's saving up another chunk of profits to look at either reducing the mortgage or replacing the car. I haven’t decided which yet.

All while maintaining a reasonable bank to keep matched betting as long as I can!
