Welcome to Team Profit's newest feature, member chats!
It is great to get to know your fellow matched betters. It makes matched betting more fun, plus you can learn from their experience!
In this member chat, Jonathan tells you about his first month's matched betting experience having joined Team Profit in August 2016.
Please introduce yourself - where are you from and what are your interests?
Hi, I’m Jonathan! A Geordie in Derbyshire spending most of my time looking after my 4 year old son!
How did you find out about matched betting?
I came across a forum post completely randomly, one of those links that link to somewhere then to somewhere else. I can’t really remember how I found it but I read through the post by Jon, watched the videos on TeamProfit and went on from there!
How much money have you made from matched betting so far?
£177 so far, with £64 free bets pending so going to hit the £200 tonight. I am still working through the start with £25 guide and just started the refund bets, first one being Genting Casino’s.
How easy or difficult did you find learning matched betting?
The first couple of days were a bit tricky, but mainly due to confidence and making sure I am doing it exactly right. I remember I spent about 2 hours doing the Coral bets however I could do it in the fraction of the time now.
I have started to use Oddsmonkey now too, which really speeds things up. I spend most of my time at my PC day to day ending up with 6 or 7 tabs just related to matched betting open.
How does matched betting fit into your weekly routine?
I do it as and when. I do not like to keep the free bets pending, I forgot about a £10 free bet at PaddyPower and managed to place it on the day it expired. As soon as I get an e-mail saying I have a free bet available I complete it as soon as possible. This can be at home on my PC or on my phone if I spend the extra time.
Have any of your friends started matched betting?
Not yet but some are interested. I think they are waiting for me to complete the welcome offers first to see what happens next.
What have you done (or plan to do) with the money?
I am just keeping it handy. Never know what is around the corner and being in the later half of a year near a holiday you can’t mention before December, it is good to have something to fall back on. Almost feels safer than a bank really!
